Experience the Film and Education Event
The Movement to Reverse Diabetes Naturally began when the experiment of providing live-food (whole, organic, greens-based vegetables, sprouts, low-glycemic fruits, seeds, nuts, sea vegetables, and algaes) for people with insulin-dependent diabetes showed its results: 90-100% of the people with type 2 diabetes returned to a non-diabetic physiology (blood sugar 70 to 115 and A1C below 6, on no medication or insulin), and 40% of the type 1’s as well. This was under the supervision of Gabriel Cousens, M.D., a Columbia Medical School-trained physician, and a team of several other M.D.’s as well.
A documentary film to define and catalyze the movement, “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days” was produced and released to film-festival acclaim and hundreds of screenings across the country.
One of the producers of the film returned to the Bay Area, a place he had lived before, and began the Bay Area Movement to Naturally Reverse Diabetes and other Preventable Diseases. In the Bay Area, over 20 showings have occurred in 2009 and 2010, with over 1000 people experiencing several interesting things:
1. The sense of empowerment that they are responsible for their own health and can have fun while claiming that!
2. A surging interest in local organic food sources and urban/local gardening;
3. A growing awareness of the interconnectedness between reversing diabetes, nutrition, and the social ills of society.
When 25 million Americans have diabetes and another 55 million have pre-diabetes, growing by approximately 5% every three years, that is more than quarter of the country being effected. It is caused by a mainstream system of food and lifestyle that doesn’t work.
Importantly, the disease is also just a symptom of a system that also doesn’t work for the soil, the groundwater, the air, the animal kingdom, the genetic diversity of plants, the workers in the food system, and political strains of hoarding of resources.
When a critical mass of people take ownership their wellbeing using the natural eating methodology taught in the Movement to Reverse Type 2 Diabetes, we find out how profound is our human ability to heal. The systemic, social ailments and imbalances listed shifted towards balance when we make a shift in our consciousness, heart, and way of life.
The Movement to Reverse Diabetes Naturally presents the Culture of Life and Liberation Lifestyle that takes us out from the shadow of the Culture of Death. The Culture of Death manifests with tortured and bloodied animals; genetically modified organism pollution; and pesticided, herbicided, insecticided, biocided crops. Authentically organic, plant-based, nutrient-dense gardening uses 1/27 as much energy and water per nutritious calorie of food that conventional animal agriculture uses. The Movement to Reverse Diabetes Naturally shows us that how eat eat determines who lives and who dies on the planet, locally and the world over. How we use our forks effects people, animals, resources, and field of consciousness so much that it causes feast or famine, illness or health, peace or war, and life or death
