Original talk by Brene Brown on Ted.com.
Relationships ask us to be vulnerable, to let go of our egos and be who we are. Strength and courage ask the same. If we want to find even the slightest iota of real power, we’ve got to open to our vulnerability. Otherwise our strength is brittle, not resilient; our courage, a façade that doesn’t fool anyone; our relationships, shallow and empty–begging for connection.
Brene Brown is a research professor from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work who “studies human connection — our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk at TEDxHouston, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity.”
