The CXC/YES! transition continues to hum along. Much has been accomplished in the last four months. The process continues, lifting up and integrating the best of both organizations into something new.
Headquarters are now under one roof, in Berkeley. A transitional administrator was hired to help shepherd the blending of the two organizations’ methods of doing day-to-day operations, paving the way for new and more efficient systems to be practiced and implemented.
Much time and energy has also been invested in solidifying infrastructure and systems of communication–interdepartmentally and interpersonally. New phone extensions and email addresses abound, as well as website updates and change of address forms.
A new support ticket system was implemented so that any inevitable technological snafus are handled in a more timely and smooth way. Ongoing staff trainings will continue with ways to work smarter and more sustainably. The utilization of Teamwork (project management software) helps everyone stay on task and in communication regarding work status updates.
Last month, Wendy Palmer, founder of Conscious Embodiment, gave a 2-day staff training to the full staff and board members. The training allowed participants to build common ground on a foundation of shared practice that didn’t “belong” to either organization. Going forward, these trainings will help root all participants in shared concepts and framework for practice as a main organizing principle and embodiment as a shared standard for accountability.
As spring approaches, with the help of a wide network and clear strategic vision, many exciting prospects continue to present themselves. On the horizon: fearlessYoga Teacher Training, SIT for Change partnerships, and the hiring of an Online Organizer/Communications Steward. Stay tuned…
