Interaction Institute for Social Change (IISC) is “a nonprofit organization that works for social justice and sustainability” by fostering great social impact through a variety of workshops and services. Their work helps folks develop relationship skills in organizations such as, “networks and coalitions, nonprofits (of all sizes), public sector agencies, schools and school systems, and foundations.” IISC encourages their clients to see things anew in order to move forward.
But the work IISC does isn’t just focused on their clients and workshops. Those who work at IISC are committed in their own lives, and in the life of the organization, to live into the values IISC stands behind, some which include serving with excellence and mutuality, reverence for human dignity, and living social justice. As individuals and as an organization they walk their talk.
“The work of IISC is rooted in “the love that does justice,” a commitment to equity and inclusion, and a belief in networks as important units of change. At our core, we practice and teach facilitative leadership – a model rooted in shared power and decision-making, consensus building, collaborative skill, and servant leadership. Through all of our work, we seek to realize our vision of the future: To stand with a global community of skillful visionaries, grounded in love as a force for transformation, achieving social justice for all and sustainability for the planet.”
IISC workshops include those on effective leadership and facilitation, teamwork, social and organizational change (diversity in collaboration) and training for trainers.
[IISC] “workshops provide individuals with the skills they need to develop personally and professionally and to become catalysts for improving performance, building collaborative cultures, and achieving extraordinary results.”
[They] “integrate skills development with conceptual knowledge and experiential learning in order to transfer a broad range of skills, including: facilitative leadership, designing and facilitating change initiatives, facilitation and collaborative problem-solving, and strategic thinking and planning.”
“IISC believes that our change efforts must be rooted in an unlimited love for one another and the planet. Network building not only takes change to scale but by necessity prioritizes the building of relationships of trust. These two factors are what is needed to realize the extraordinary potential of the new world we must and will build together!”
