If you are interested in the Occupy Wall Street movement, you know that it can change at a moment’s notice. Sometimes there are demonstrations held in Denver, while others are being held the same day in Los Angeles. Protesters are often uprooted by police officials or asked to move by private property owners. And, most of all, we all know that demonstrators are often jailed and physically abused, with little to no mainstream media coverage of the events. That’s why it’s so important to stay up to date with the daily goings on around the Occupy front. And what better vehicle for minute-to-minute news reporting than Twitter?
Here are some of the top Twitter accounts connected to the Occupy movement. They offer information on where demonstrations will be held and provide real-time accounts of the activity on the field via text, photo and video. For all the Occupy information you need, follow these feeds:
This is the official Twitter account of OccupyWallSt.org, and it serves as one of the central locations for all things occupy.
With over 19,000 Twitter followers, Global Revolution is working to document and promote activities pushing for social change, especially Occupy Wall Street. Broadcasting from Occupy sites since the beginning of the movement, streams can be found on Globalrevolution.tv or on the Twitter profile.
This is the official Twitter account for Occupy Congress and works in conjunction with @OccupyWallSt (above). The organization is dedicated to making changes in Congress, especially dismantling the structure for corporate control of government.
