Tim Ryan’s book, A Mindful Nation, has been called “one of the most optimistic books to come out of Washington, during these trying times.” It covers things like basic steps toward a mindfulness practice, mindfulness practice among school children and the military, as well as how mindfulness could help us reshape the economy, our health, and our country. But one of the most important messages the book suggests is that it’s not working on this practice on our own that’s going to bring change; it’s about many people in the country taking on this practice and through that making collective change.
