Jo Kata is the practice of extending and maintaining a field of
energy beyond one’s own body. It utilizes 31 different moves with
a staff (never a stick!), called a Jo. Jo Kata was developed by Saito Sensei,
a senior student of Morohei Ueshiba who was the founder of aikido.
