Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention
Manning Marable‘s biography of Malcolm X introduces new information that could reshape widely held beliefs about the Civil Rights leader. Taking two decades to research and write, Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention culminated in an act of scholarship for Marable, a writer and professor at Columbia University, who died April 1, 2011, just 3 days before the book was published. Marable’s book broke news for mainstream readers by offering a theory on Malcom’s 1965 assassination and naming the alleged conspirators.
